Ok first i swore I wouldnt post a birthday discussion on my birthday but here we go. Today is my birthday and I was cooking a special dinner. My mom got upset (she lives a state away) that I had to cook my own dinner. I see nothing wrong with it. My hubby doesnt like to cook and has worked all day. I am going out this weekend to celebrate. So What do you do for your birthday dinner? Do you cook your own, or have someone else cook it? Do you think it is a big deal to cook your own. (atleast I get what I want :))

Happy Birthday Amy!!!! Hope your celebration is full of fun and laughter. I don't think it's a big deal, I have cooked my own a couple of times when I had strong cravings for my own dishes. In my Mexican family growing up the whole family got together ,sometimes extended too, and we all helped cook it was a lot of fun.
I love homemade Tamales on my Birthday:) -
Happy Birthday, Amy!
As for birthday dinners, I usually end up with a birthday breakfast! Since I love to eat breakfast out, we'll usually go to a local restaurant or diner and have a big breakfast.
For Michael's birthday this year I invited our close friends to an Indian restaurant and we had a lovely time. He loves Indian food so thought it would be a nice change as we hadn't been out to one in awhile. -
Happy Birthday Amy. Either I prepare dinner or we go out to eat. Since it is just we two now, it doesn't get too out of hand. I would love to be taken to L'Auberge Chez Francois (now Chef Jacques his son is the owner) for a long luxurious meal.

Happy Birthday Amy.. My hubby usually makes the Birthday dinner with me.. He sends me out to the shopping mall for a couple hours to shop for my BD gift.. Next month is my hubby's birthday, so I have to think what to make for him.. Any suggestions, his favorite is any meal that has chicken in it? -
Amy, I know you said you are going out with family to eat dinner tonight. Do you know yet where they plan to take you?-
I had a pizza quesidilla and it was huge. It had steak, chicken, shrimp, chirizo, beans, onions, bell pepper, cheese and was fried. It was awsome but it was bigger than the plate so I brought half of it home. We like Mexican, chinese (all but hubby) and japanese. I want to try other type ethnic foods some time soon.

Someday I'm hoping to get taken OUT for my birthday, but we celebrate all together and to take so many of us out gets really expensive. We'll see. At any rate - have a great day!
