Cooler Temperatures Nice Summer Days!

Thank goodness we have had two cool days. This summer has been the hottest on record in our area. With the change in temperature I am ready to turn on my oven and heat her up, because we are to have normal temperatures all next week.
I have never gone so long ... longing to use my oven, so I will be gearing up my Kitchen Aid Mixer and pulling out those baking dishes and pans.
What are you in the mood to bake today?

I want to make a peach tart and an apple pie. -
It has been hot & humid here in Western MA, also. I see no reason to turn on the A/C after the oven totally heats up the entire house, so I have not baked in a couple of weeks. The next two days will be cooler, so I am planning on a double batch of Zucchini Raisin Muffins. Most will go into the freezer after baked and cooled.
Your temps have really been scorching. Cooler weather is just around the corner.-
Oh ... speaking of the freezer. I had to throw out 25 shrimps (large), 1/2 large turkey (my sister's from last November!), two vacuum-packed packages of mussels, five clusters of snow crabs, one loaf of bread, one package of waffles (my husbands), one sheet of puff pastry and I think that is it. I am ashamed for wasting food. I will now post a list of my food items and keep it where I will know precisely what is in the fridge, freezer, cabinets and pantry. Shame on me! Now I will say my penance and beat myself with a wet noodle. Really I just figured "It's frozen and should still be Okay ... Wrong!" -
Oh goodness, forget the wet noodle! Sometimes, we learn to do something new because the old method just didn't work well.
I started the freezer list, because I'd forget what in the world was in there. It was the Blueberries that I totally did not see in the back on the top shelf. I thought we had more - but where?

I agree Theresa. I have been thinking only of things that I can make either on my griddle or in the frying pan. It had been much too hot and humid to turn the oven on. My imagination is running on overtime.
