Sorry I am a bit late. The new thermostat was making the air conditioner run at the same time as the heater and as a result, the condenser is frozen over. The man was here to look at it and now we have to go to Home Depot to buy another one that will work correctly. I am so sorry. However, in the spirit of October, I will add in something delicious I made earlier this week.

I took her shopping for shoes and then when we came home I started working around the house. I am painting doors, took out airconditioners...then had to paint the window sills because they got all awful looking. Fixed some screens to put back in the windows. It is a good and blessed feeling to get these things done. -

Catherine, tell us what you and your lovely daughter have been doing to stay so busy lately.-
We went to Payless for shoes and then to Old Navy they had some pretty good sales. My daughter needed some things. She really is a great kid. Both of my kids are helpful. Once we started with the windows and doing touch ups from taking out the air conditioners, I decided to paint the doors. It is amazing how much a little paint can do.

I wanted to share with every one my potato salad but I am leaving this afternoon for the party. Here are the picutres and the procedure. Use it any way you want to
Step 1. is to bake the potatoes in the oven the night before. Wrap them in foil before baking. Then put them in the fridge.(This step makes them easier to peel.)
Step 2: Peel the potatoes and them chop them into bite size chunks. (If you use red or new potatoes you do not need to peel them)
step 3. Cook and crumble some bacon. (how much depends on how much salad you are making.) I used a sheet pan full but I was making alot of salad.
Step 4. Mix the dressing together. (again measurments are to how much salad you are making.) I used 16oz of sour cream. 1/2 cup mayo, the bacon, one package shredded cheese (your choice what kind), and ranch dressing. I then thinned the dressing out with a little milk to make it pourable.
Step 5: put in the fridge for atleast an hour before serving.
The orginal recipe I made up had pulled pork (without sauce on it) but since this is for a barbecue I left the pork out. The idea is to put any thing in here that you would put on a loaded bake potato. (The barbcue places here serve a loaded potatoe with pulled pork or some other smoked meat, bacon bits, cheese, sour cream, butter, and chives.) I some times put green onion in it too. The ranch was my mother in laws idea. I made it for another party and it was a little thick so she put a little ranch in it to thin it out. It was a hit so we left it like that.
