Do you have a recipe that is great for using left overs?

I posted granny creekmores pea patties that use left over peas, we also make chicken and ham salad, and chicken and gravy.

My favorite one is the one I posted with leftovers chicken breast: Frango à Brás - Chicken with potato sticks. Can you believe that the leftover breast of a chicken feeds over 5 people?

yes I saw that one. I just wish I had a left over chicken of any type. My kids eat all that up at dinner. I think I will have to fix one and put it up before dinner to try that one.lol

haha, too funny, actually good with all types of meat left-over apart from beef. We have already done it with chicken, pork, duck, turkey. The original recipe is actually to be used with dry (salt) cod fish.

No because it calls for seven quarts of peeled apples and I don't have that many apples. I want to make this when my niece comes to visit.

I think my very favorite is fried rice made with leftover rice and anything else I can get my hands on. That and omelets - or soup. Gee, I can't settle, can I?

each time I have too much white rice, I boil it again in water and a little salt until pretty mushy, then remove the water, add shredded cheese. Make little balls out of it, place in a oven safe dish, put it on low broil for about 10 minutes serve with a nice juicy grilled steak!

Oh yeah! My Mother loved those hot open faced turkey sandwiches, with mashed potatoes, gravy and oyster dressing. I can almost taste it. She always insisted on cranberry sauce (jellied), but when I was small it made my milk taste strange.

I like to stir fry leftover veggies and rice with a little canola oil, tomato paste and Siracha (Thai chili sauce). Then I make a thin omelette and wrap it around the fried rice. It's delicious! I had a roommate a few years back who was Asian food phobic, and she loved this so much she would request it! Of course she's not Asian food phobic anymore. Having a Korean roommate who makes you eat unfamiliar foods helped her get over it!

Having someone cook for you is so luxurious. My Grandmother, Father and Sister cooked until I took over. I really miss that.

I think I could eat almost anything with Sriracha on it.

I cannot pronounce that Sriracha but it sounds intriguing. What is it? As long as it doesn't move or taste like cilantro I might try it.

      Sriracha is

Thai chili sauce that has a very smooth consistency and slightly vinegary taste. It's wonderful!

Genie, thanks for the photo. My husband loves spicy and hot sauces. I shall take the recommendation Annie mentioned and buy him a bottle.

We both looked for this sauce in the international section of our Safeway. We did not find any.

Do you have a local Asian market? It's usually in the Thai section.

Ham. I always make a ham that is twice as big as it needs to be. You can add it to everything. Mac and cheese, omelets, green veggies yum!

Sandwiches, quiches, grilled ham and swiss cheese, julienne, in a chef salad, just by itself.

Leftover gravy may be thinned down considerably, then reduced over heat adding sauteed grape tomatoes, figs, fresh herbs, and freshly cooked pasta. Toss and serve with grated parmesan cheese on top.
