Food Word Game, Play Any Time!

Just like we do over at BlogCatalog.com we start with a word and the next person uses the last letter of the word to begin their new word.
This game will consist of anything food or kitchen related.
Example: fruit
New Word: tangerine
Next Word: eggplant

Amatriciana Sauce
2 lb 4 oz ripe tomatoes (try Roma or egg tomatoes)
1 lb 2 oz rigatoni
1 Tbsp olive oil
*3 thin slices bacon OR
6 thin slices pancetta finely chopped*
1 small onion, very finely chopped
2 tsp very finely chopped fresh chilli
Mark A Small Cross in the bottom of each tomato.
1) Place the tomatoes in boiling water for 1-2 minutes, then plunge into cold water. Remove from water, then peel the skin down from the cross. Rough chop the flesh.
2) Add rigatoni to a large saucepan of rapidly boiling water and cook until just tender. Drain and retuen to pan. Keep warm.
3) About 6 minutes before the rigatoni is cooked, heat the oil in a heavy-based frying pan. Add the bacon, onion and chilli and stir over medium heat for 3 minutes. Add the tomato, and season with salt and ground pepper. Reduce the heat and simmer for 3 minutes. Add sauce to pasta and toss until well combined.
Preparation time 25 minutes
Total cooking time 20 minutes

We keep ending up with e words. Sheesh!
Elephant Ears ........... (similar to big curly puff pastry funnel cakes)
My Daddy used to take me to the bakery in Silver Spring, MD some Saturdays, and one day he brought home Elephant Ears. They were huge! I ate both sides and asked for another. He smiled and let me have two that day.
