This Friday night around 8PM let's hang out for about an hour and catch up. Everybody bake or cook a favorite and upload photos and recipe.

We still have two months of winter and this will help us get the weekend off to a great start.

Yes! When I make a turkey sandwich, I spread the mayo on first and then sprinkle generously with my favorite herb, Persaillotte (garlic, parsley and onion and only available in France). My son introduced me to it and has a friend who gets it for me and sends it. But in any event, it takes the sandwich - and most other dishes - to new heights.

I made a different recipe Italian sauce, yesterday. I only used bay leaves and no other spices. It is a remarkable flavor.

Five bay leaves and five garlic cloves, onions, salt pepper fire roasted can of tomatoes, tomato paste olive oil butter garlic salt and 1/4 to 1/2 cup of dark red wine.

2 cups of water indeed. I add all ingredients to bread maker and let it work the dough. Am lazy sorry! hehe. This will work for two pizzas. I usually make one for us and have another ready to take to my toddler's daycare next morning.

Sofia? What's it like to live in Wisconsin? Do you ever feel cut off from the ocean?

I am three hours from the ocean, but close to two major rivers and bay, so I am not too set apart from the ocean. I wish I lived in Staten island so I would be able to smell the salty air everyday and see the city I long for.

T: WI... hmmm. ok, beautiful, actually absolutely GORGEOUS place. Amazing cheese and as we live right next to Milwaukee we have the lake. To get to know people though has been tough. People here are not very transient, meaning they are very rooted, having same friends since elementary, family etc. As newcomers it is tough to break the boundaries. I use cooking and entertaining as my medium to get to know people and it is working.... but ohhh so slowly. We are a family where we LOVE to entertain, have good times, with friends and so on. So it has been an adjustment. My tween though (Rita) totally integrated herself very well, has amazing friends through school and dance. Ocean... oh how I miss the ocean. Going to portugal in a week and a few days and will be seeing, smelling and enjoying all goods from the ocean!

Pizza once more. When my family moved from Tennessee to Staten Island, we'd never heard of pizza, and when we did, we laughed our heads off. Imagine anyone eating a pie made of cheese and tomato! And then we tasted our first New York pizza and our taste buds woke up and sang.

See someone else who appreciates NY pizza! I believe it has to do with the ingredients they use for their dough. The sauces are usually guarded recipes and the quality of their cheeses makes all the difference.

I can see why pizza pie and pie would be a laughing matter. Ha!

That would make for a good story for your blog.

I don't ever cook lentils. I believe my Daddy cooked them once in a while, but I am thinking they take a while to cook in the pot. Probably the reason I don't cook hard beans. I need to learn their nature in order to understand them and perhaps I will consider them twice a month.
