Iced Coffee

Can anyone suggest the best way to make a great iced coffee, much like what Starbucks serves? I am curious how to store the coffee without it turning bitter -- is there any trick here? Thanks!

For a start ... store your coffee beans in an air tight or zip lock bag, in the refrigerator.

I don't know what Starbucks does but I I figure make hot coffee and then used crushed ice. Plus, I'm certain they use sugar or a blend of sweeteners.

That's what I do. Coffee that has been brewed does not store well no matter what you do. It's going to get so strong and bitter you won't be able to drink it.

When I do iced coffee at home I just make regular coffee with my sweeteners and whatever syrups I want to add then let it cool down some and pour over crushed or small cubed ice. Works fine and that's what Starbuck's and other places do.

I just want to know the reason you want to drink is cold? Curious.

Iced coffee is about all I drink out here in the desert when I have coffee (which is rarely). Hot coffee is just too hot when it's over 100!

How I usually do it is with GOOD instant coffee, add boiling water, sugar, then put it in the blender with lots of ice, just before serving add a few drop of lemon juice, stir then a tbsp of heavy cream!
