If You Were Stranded...

I did this once a while back on my blog, if you were stranded on a deserted island and you could have 5 foods in unlimited quantities (always somehow provided without spoiling) what would they be?

I think mine were olives, garlic, tomatoes, chicken and new potatoes.

lol Sushi is vinegared rice But, yeah - I would say sushi doesn't count. I was trying to think of all the things you could forage for and/or grow to augment the other stuff. That may be an even better question!

I have learned to forage nuts, mushrooms (morels) and hunt (I never did that before until recently) I still dont eat squirrel because it is in the rodent family but deer is pretty good if fixed right. I have a wild life cookbook that has beaver, ground hog, and the list goes on and on. I just dont think I could eat that stuff.

    Nuts
    Avocados
    Tomatoes
    Potatoes
    Chicken (white meat only)
    Eggs
    Fresh Bread

Couldn't do 5, as I need at least 7 if I am going to be on a deserted island.
Good thing you didn't ask about personal items, as that would have to be at least 12. lol

Everything Angie said (I'd live next door to her and we could exchange) but would have to add Chocolate, Butter, Yeast, Flour and Sugar. And could there be a cow grazing on the island too? I need milk. Can make butter and cheese and ice creams. Yes, would have to have a cow and chickens free range.

I would love a ham and swiss cheese sandwich on rye bread with lettuce, mayo and a slice of Bermuda onion. I would like a deli pickle with a nice snap. Since I am stranded on an island I think I will go for a small bag of potato chips to go with the sandwich. I must have a REALLY good cup of coffee. To go with the coffee I would like a nice thick piece of pound cake for dessert. Then I could sit back and think about how to get off this island or if maybe I would like to visit a while.

You know, you can always come over to our section of beach and help out in the kitchen. "Will Work For Food"

I would do everything possible to insure we all had something to eat.

they (who ever they are) have also stated that mcrowaving food doesnt kill germs in your left overs. Wondering about that .People have been microwaving left overs for years and there is no epidimic of them dropping dead from germs in their food.

The heat of the food should kill the germs. I saw talk of that - everything seems to do a 180 no matter what. Some day they'll tell us oatmeal is actually bad for us.

This is good of them and it provides you with a safe haven whereby you can be at ease and reflect on what you want to do and which direction you will take. You don't have to worry about roommates and their attitudes. You have the advantage to be useful around your home, which helps your parents, and shows them you are growing up, and they will be even more willing to whatever they can to make your stay memorable. Give them lots of hugs and trade stories. You won't have them forever and they are real treasures in life. Everything will be fine. Just wait and see.
