Kohlrabi

I planted 8 plants of Kohlrabi. I have never had it before. Can some one give me some recipes or ideas. I love vegetables and found this while seed shoppoing and was curious.

    Amy, I'd have to Google it because I have not heard of it more than twice, and this is the second time. Eight plants sounds like it should produce a nice size of food.

    ok the best thing I LOVE to do with the leaves is the fry them in bacon fat, but make sure they are a tad wet. They will crisp then when you remove them sprinkle a little salt. Kids LOVE IT! For the root itself use it the same way as any other root vegetable. A great thing I like to do when I have a variety of root vegetables is cutting them all in thin slices them creating a "au grating" with them.

      They must have hardy leaves, in order to fry them. Sounds tasty. I saw they are a German green turnip with pretty sprouted leaves. Here is a link. See the photo. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kohlrabi
