This morning I made Quinoa hot cereal from flakes and this is something that will be a keeper for me! Wish I had known about this years ago. Much research has been done on Quiona...the strange part is, it's super healthy...and I liked it!
Have seeds for this spring to grow my own! Next search is to find more recipes using Quinoa.

Quinoa is phenomenal! It is definitely one of the growing trends in food these days as more and more people discover it. Aside from the health argument, it is a delicious alternative to the regulars (potato, other grains) in most diets. There is a great recipe for creamy quinoa on the site (www.halfhourmeals.com/recipe/creamy-quinoa-keen-wah-pudding) that you may want to check out. Would love to have you share some of your own quinoa dishes when you come up with them! -

Quinoa (pronounced Keen-Wah) is a grain-like crop from South America. It's not really a cereal or grain, but does resemble them. It's generally cooked the same way you cook rice, and can be used the same way you would use rice...in both sweet and savory dishes. I find Quinoa to have a slightly nutty flavor and a texture similar to rice or barley. It's super-healthy and lends itself to so many uses....you should try it! I can find it at my local grocery store, but if you can't find it at yours, try looking at health-food specialty stores.
