Do you make your own mayo, mustard, ketchup and such. I have recipes that I never use for this stuff. I made my own Mayo tonight as part of a food product review. It is awsome and I will be making it from now on instead of buying it. So you have any recipes to share. If you are looking for one let me know and I will see if I have it as I collect recipes and a lot of them are really old.

I always make my own salad dressing. Salad dressing is so expensive and there are so many additives in it that it seems to just make sense to make your own. I never attempted to make my own mayo. You are brave. I suppose I would be a little leary about the raw egg. Did you use raw egg in your mayo?

That makes the difference. I don't think I would feel comfortable with the store bought eggs from the grocery store. Good for you that your family can eat such fresh food. That really is a wonderful gift to your family and self.

    homemade mayo

It is yellow in color due to the mustard and the three very fresh egg yolks that were used. It got thicker when chilled.

I make my own mayo from time-to-time when I need it. I also make my own taco sauce (like Taco Bell that hubby likes), salsa, hoisin sauce and have recipes for ketchups that I haven't made yet. I loooove homemade mayo!

I am addicted to it now. I used coconut oil in it and it has a very light coconut flavor. I made chicken salad with it and it rocks.

I like orange butter with Grand Marnier and use it on Crepes Suzette.

ok, I want that recipe Theresa. My Aunt loved cole slaw and I was never able to make her a good one. Too late now to make her again, but still would love to learn.

Sure thing. Just have to find it. Oh, I remember now. I looked a recipe up on line and tweaked it so it would taste as similar to the cole slaw my Father used to make. I'll write it up.

You should try a vinegar-based slaw. Use apple cider vinegar, cayenne, salt, a little sugar, and celery seed.

I do my own vanillla extract, salad dressing (the oil and vinegar type) and marinara.

I also make my own salsas (this board needs a more full-blown html editor, so full link below). They're SUPER easy, and stay fresh for longer than you can keep them in the 'fridge.

I used a prepared BBQ sauce with honey and added freshly sliced ginger. I brushed it onto my chicken wings I was grilling on my in-door, almost-smokeless grill and they were perfect! I licked my fingers.
