The way you submit recipes, it is cumbersome and the only site that I have posted on that you have to wait for recipes to be approved. I don't post individual recipes here for that reason. -

Incorporate FriedEggs inside these discussions. And ... for more people to be present, on the sight and become really involved in the discussions and the events, too.

There is another site, I cannot recall which where it calculates all dietary ingredients. Also the idea to be able to share recipes through social networks would be fantastic. What about a chat room? this way when someone comes here, one could right away ask questions if need be. What about uploading video of the recipe process? -
How about a last post button. Some of the threads like the food word game are getting so long that it takes forever to get to the bottom. With a last post button we could go right to the bottom and scroll up a few posts if new stuff has been added instead of scrolling through all of the posts every time. -
I agree with Greg. The set-up for recipe submission is very difficult and a bit time consuming. To be more specific, I would change the way we have to seperate the 'amount' from the 'ingredient.' That is very difficult and sometimes can muddle with the recipe.
For comparison's sake, I find Foodista's recipe submission much easier to operate. -
I like these ideas and will add them to our list of things to improve this site on.
Thanks for sharing them. -

The recipe submission process has not worked well for me. I have not posted a recipe for a few months, because each of the recipes I did post needed to be resubmitted twice. Still not sure what the issue was, but only after the third posting did I receive the "recipe submitted successfully" message. Took way too long to submit sucessfully to post again. -
Why hasn't Half Hour Meals changed their recipe submission page yet?!
Please, make it easier for us cooks to post our recipes on this site!!! -

I agree the recipe submission process needs a major overhaul. It's especially cumbersome with recipes that have a lot of ingredients. In addition having to wait for a day or two (in a few cases three) to have the recipe be approved is a bit of a pain. I've really slowed down my posting of recipes here because it just takes too much time and effort.
Additionally, I like the ideas above about calculating nutritional values. I have a program on my computer that does that and I really love it. I've seen other sites that do that automatically for recipes.
Also, the blogs page could use some tweaking. It's nice to have the latest blog posts on the front page (although that hasn't updated in nearly a week) but, if it's not stuck as it is now... then blog posts move off it very quickly, especially during the weekdays. Instead, it would be nice to have the latest blog post for each blog show up on the blogs page instead of just a static screenshot of the blog and a link. Sort of like the Foodblogs site does.
