I'd love to share the recipe though I wouldn't ever get to eat it again

Doesn't compare to my mom's Chicken Soup.

    Right, there isn't any comparison.

My mom always made chicken soup with turnips in the broth - I'm not always a fan of that, but when she makes it that way with kreplach, I couldn't imagine it any other way.

We have chicken soup often during the cooler months along with homemade cheese crackers or bread.

The big question is - noodles or rice?

For me my choice is always noodles but not mushy broth soaked noodles. They have to still have some pasta characteristics when I eat them. I love chicken soup.

      Annie, What is kreplach?

Kreplach is a stuffed dumpling akin to ravioli, wontons etc, but it's Jewish. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kreplach

I prefer spaghetti noodles, broken into 4ths, for my chicken soup - it stays together well and the kids like it, too.

Was this ingredient used because of your religious tradition or just because it is a good recipe. If for the first, then I have questions regarding these traditions. SMiles

No, it's just a recipe. I am not Jewish, mom attended a Messianic Jewish church for some time and came away with some awesome recipes! We did do traditional Seders and Rosh Hashanah meals, though.
