Well apparently my invitation to the royal wedding got lost in the mail :)!! So I am going to throw a little pre-wedding tea party at the Paris House! I will be discussing my Royal Tea Party Menu and recipes along with a couple ideas for something fun and fabulous to wear...whether you are here in the states or a lucky one who will be hopping on a plane to cross the pond for the big day. I would LOVE it if you would join us Live on Thursday April 7th at 6pm Eastern time to watch our show. If you have any questions or recipes you would like to share please post them here, Tweet them to me or put them in our Ask Bunny forum on our website www.theparishouse.com or email them to me theparishouse@comcast.net If we mention your recipe we would be very happy to mention your name/website/links so be sure to let us know them!! I can't wait to hear from you. I can taste the scones, tea sandwiches, teas etc...already....My Muse and inspiration for this Royal Tea Party is the Orangerie in England..my favorite tearoom in the world! I am now dreaming about their orange cake...Yummy!

How lovely this all sounds. Please count me in!

I'm afraid I have a prior engagement, unfortunately. Sounds like fun, though. Invitations to my high teas were quite the sought after commodity back when I did 18th Century living history.

I will try to add some fun things on the royal tea and wedding. I have so many fashion questions to address & I definitely want to review the questions from half hour meals that were cut off last month such as the tablecloth, entertaining on a budget etc... I will try to add something fun on the royal tea party...I can also do a something on my blog and add some recipes to half hour meals....If anyone has a recipe they would like me to talk about live send it to me and I will make sure I mention it...something tea party related...scones, an easy yummy ice tea version for the warm weather season, tea sandwiches etc...I will get it on the show!!!!

Those are a few of my favorite things to make when I have someone over for a cup of tea.
In the Fall I often substitute my gingerbread cakes (an 18th Century recipe) and my gingerbread scones. But for Spring I think lemon and coconut are more appropriate.

As for the fashion part....

Left to right: A formal 18th Century dinner welcoming the new Superintendent of the National Park Service. Officer's uniform for the Royal Engineers following a luncheon and tea. Casual evening with friends after tourists leave - toasting with a glass of Port. -
