One of the most attractive things about being in a community of food lovers is not having to have an excuse to eat or enjoy food.
This Saturday evening, 6PM New York Time, I want as many of us to gather right here and link a photo of what you are going to eat for dinner.
Feel free to sign up. Bring anything you love to eat and tell us about what you did this week.

Challenging though good. We're getting ready for blogworld and there's a bunch of little things and big things that we need to get done before then. I think chefs, from what I can tell, all have a perfectionist tendency which makes life more challenging.
How about these for a pot luck dinner

Tony, The chef must be prepared for anything that might not go right. They have to prepare and think ahead because once you are in the arena you're on your own and there usually isn't anyone going for a run to the market at that point. Be patient with the chef because he is the one who will make the biggest impression.

Dessert? Chocolate Crusted Chocolate Tarts - I have orders for these from Cassidy's college mates!

-
Yummy! I love hazelnuts. I was just wondering today how to make hazelnut paste. I want to get some from AUISWISS.com and also their almond flour and pistachio paste. But these items are rather costly. T/he ingredients are an investment. But this chocolate tart with a hazelnut would be awesome.

She will take them back with her - she also has orders for me for my famous Pumpkin Pasties and Blueberry Biscotti - I'll be swamped, but it'll be good.
I sell them really cheaply to the kids and this past week I sent a dozen to twin boys there at the college who had just lost their mom. Not much, and it doesn't 'really' help, but it's what I'm good at, and I always say, "Go with what you're good at."

I made those thinking of Trish because she said she loves chocolate.
Then again, I guess we all do.
They are really easy to make:
3 tablespoons margarine or butter
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 package (10 oz.) regular marshmallows
OR
4 cups miniature marshmallows
1 teaspoon chocolate flavoring
6 cups puffed rice cereal
Melt margarine in large saucepan over low heat. Add cocoa powder and marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat. Stir in chocolate flavoring.
Add the cereal. Stir until well coated.
Using buttered spatula or waxed paper, press mixture evenly into 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan coated with cooking spray. Cut into squares when cool. Best if served the same day.

2006 Descendientes de José Palacios Villa de Corullón
BIERZO, SPAIN
Its pretty decent and runs around $40.00
Taste like wild berries. -
I also brought something special for Tony as he loves Cheese Cake.

May not be tiramisu, or tarte Tatin, but this cheesecake is pretty close to being perfect. Sweet—a smooth, creamy confection with only a hint of tart.
This one here does include cream cheese, eggs, sugar, vanilla, and heavy cream. The result is light as gauze. Only thing you need with this is a fresh cup coffee. -
The train just pulled in and Of course I had to do the dishes first. Tonight I tried a version of Catherine's recipe pasta spinach and figs. I believe she used shrimps but having salmon I needed to cook I decided to go with this, on the side. I even added some pepper slices and a few hot pepper flakes. Joe loved it and so did I.

I steamed some baby carrots, dredged them in butter, salt, pepper and dill weed. -
This cake is the bomb. I almost ate up the batter it was so heady and perfect. Instead of using lemon extract I decided on a whopping TBSP of Dark Rum.

I cut this cake in half to freeze it. In a few days, I will remove it from the freezer, wait until it is partially defrosted, slice it into four sections (across) and build a cake. -
Last night I also made Cleveland Brownies. Instead of making them in one pan, I decided to make a real mess and try to pipe the batter into muffin cups. Wouldn't you know I wasn't watching and make the opening too large. Hence a 1/4 of the batter went down the drain and as usual, I made a chocolate mess. These beauties are so wonderful. I can keep an eye on how many we eat and I have frozen five of them to use in another upcoming recipe.

Sorry I am late. Things went a little off schedule today. There was Taste of Bethesda today and wow was it crowded. You pay $ for tickets and then get to use the tickets to pay for the different restaurant foods. Some was quite good, while others were lacking. I was better last year. Perhaps because my sister was with us. I miss her.
I am so pleased you wonderful food lovers got things going. You're the best!

wow, I want a piece of that cake. I can see how Joe is in heaven.
Everything looks wonderful -

This week we purchased a Bissell vacuum and a Bissell spotbot pet spot cleaner. I am going to do a review on my blog in a few days but I'll give you a hint. they both really do what they promise. We had many spots to get up because some of the pet food the kitties ate made them sick to their tummies and the food affected them all. Poor dears. Good endings, the icy light gray carpet looks almost brand new.
My back and arms got a real workout from the scrubbing action. Also not looking forward to using Tilex on the bathroom. Why this cleaner is the only one to get everything out is sad because it chokes me and burns my eyes. Deep cleaning twelve times a year keeps things right. But Yuck! -

I did say, but here goes again.
I upload to flicker. Then look at any size and choose the size I like. the program automatically puts the code directly below the picture. I copy and paste that. There is a one liner url address but it will not display the photo here. Must use the larger text, of the two. Try it.

I am here. I didnt get to cook anything I have been in wood up to my head today. We cut two huge trees and hauled them to the house. So all I ciiked was some Wendy's burgers. -
Has anyone here ever noticed after a movie has played the list of characters and crew has a section to list the caterers and chefs? I find that very interesting. Perhaps one day we should get a group together and cater the food (for a day) for the artists on a major motion picture. We could volunteer. It would be fun and interesting. -
oh yep, thanks teresa I will figure it out sometime, oh we should do a half hour meals blog talk radio and call in, or use a free conference call service then we call really chat, we could post foodie issues every month or week from the community? how many members do we have now? -

Oh I finished my dinner and just got to know of this thread - thanks Theresa111.
But I had this rice with fish&tomato broth:

It's quite similar to curried-rice but more aromatic ! -
I like Basmati rice and Jasmine rice. Do you have a recipe you can add in the Recipes Tab for how you prepare the rice, please?
I will look up Snook fish, I never heard of it before.
I found a link with photo and recipes.

I borrowed it. I could see the bright moon shining through the skylights. Even Lillian, my tortie cat she danced a cat ballet, in the moonlight, with her toy mouse. She twisted and arced in the air and was so deliciously feminine. Both Joe and I wished we had a video camera. She danced so beautifully. We never saw her do this before and she is now ten years old.
