Slap Chop

Yesterday I had a chance to try out the "Slap Chop" kitchen tool that you have most likely seen the advertisements for on TV.

I was not happy with the performance at all.

It is a pain to keep pumping the handle to chop the items. When chopping garlic, half the garlic got stuck up in the blades. It was no match for fresh basil, could not chop it at all.

I recommend a good old fashioned knife or electric food processor.

I bet the blades were not sharp enough.

I had one that was like that but dient come apart for cleaning. I hated it with a passion. It stayed in my cabinet. I would rather drag ouit the big food pro that that thing. I think it finally ended up in the yard sale box for the church in the area.

Pampered Chef has a most excellent device to chop and it opens up for easy cleaning and is dishwasher safe.
