This is a big week coming up and food is going to be traditionally prepared. Many of us decide to give up a lot of our favorite foods in observance of The Lenten Season.

Tuesday is Shrove Tuesday and pancakes are the normal tradition. Mardi Gras is celebrated around the globe and meat will not be eaten on Fridays.

Let us take a few minutes this afternoon to talk about how we (the ones of us who do), look forward to this important time of the year.

So today I shall roast a chicken and prepare an orzo pasta recipe. We have baby carrots that I will steam and add butter salt and pepper, and top with a liberal sprinkling of dry dill weed.

Last night I baked some sixty minute rolls. I made two gigantic portions and we shared one of them while we watched a replay of "Who Do You Think You Are". We very much enjoy having the DVR as it allows us to watch television programs on our schedule and we do not miss episodes of our favorite shows.
