The Snow Is On Its Way!

Found out that Penny isn't the only one expecting snow in North Carolina. Tomorrow, December 5, 2009, The Washington, DC Metro Area will be receiving a fair amount 2" to 4" of the white fulffy stuff.

What are some of your favorite foods and beverages to prepare when you get this weather?

chili, chicken stew, deer stew, spaghetti, egg drop soup. These are staples to have on hand when the weather gets cold. It is suposed to snow near here too but not that much. (Which means that we will have a foot) I havent dealt with pigs in the snow so we will have to see how that goes.

I forgot chili. That was one of Mother's very favorite things. she didn't cook and used Hormel Chili with beans. and Saltine Crackers. She made me love it too. I noticed that about eight to ten years ago, they changed their recipe and now it is weaker than before. Not as flavorful.

We're slated for it, as well. Soup, bread, tea and cookies.

I forgot soup. Yes, I saw that your state of Pennsylvania is covered with the weatherman's snow cover colored chart. Every time I see where you have written the word tea, I think, why don't I drink tea at home? I usually drink it at Chinese restaurants and have it hot and black.

I have lots of photographs we got about six to seven inches of the fluffy white snow. I'm happy!

Big pot of chili is always a winner when it's snowing. And then hope you get enough snow for some snow cream. :-)

Oh, yeah - the kids love snow cream! Haven't gotten enough for it yet - but hope to! I made black bean chili yesterday to chase the chill- we're on the same page!

Onion soup! Chili, hot wine, fondue bourguignonne, cheese fondue or raclette. Here in WI we are also getting snow, expecting to have up to 14 inches by midday Wednesday

Wow. I wish it would snow here in Maryland instead of the freezing rain they are calling for.

Even though I am not a big fun of the cold, you are right Theresa, better off the snow than the freezing rain. Well let's hope it will turn to snow!

We are supposed to get snow/rain this week. I live in the hills so I will not be going any where if it does. I hate ice on the road.

we got some snow/slush mix today, supposed to get more tonight and tomorrow.. I wish it would wait a week or so, because I still have to drive an hour to get to class and I don't want snow/ice making the drive even more sucky.

But I like the snow. I usually play in it, and then come inside to a nice cold glass of water. Except when I'm with friends snowboarding, then I drink a lot of different things. Such as, fun juice, energy drink vodka, different shots, rum n coke, and other things.

About 5 inches of snow now. Time for hot cocoa and a day of baking cookies with the kids tomorrow!

This is a little bit nutty - I didn't expect so much and I have TONS left to do for Christmas. I don't think I'll get it all done.

We did some shopping today and got our tree finally. IT is finally coming together but there is still so much to do. Santa Claus is coming to town and We get to celebrate the birth of our dear Savior again. I have warm feelings in my heart.
