Valentine's Day?

I'm assuming that most folks on here would rather eat their own cooking than go to a restaurant on the busiest night of the year.

So, what's on the plate?

I guessing either we'll go out or ... I will cook. I shall ask him and let you know. I was thinking we could have a Valentine's Party here Saturday, February 13th.

Theresa you should cook a dinner together. That would be time well spent together.

We will be going out. With two kids, we do not go for the romantic thing, we just treat ourselves to a nice restaurant and bring the girls along!

We don't usually do Valentine's Day other than small trinkets for the kids. Our anniversary is the 18th, so we wait until then. By that time the tables at restaurants are stark, so we get our pick of the lot and have a good time out.

Happy Early Wedding Anniversary, Annie and Marty!

Oh, when is Mardi Gras? I hadn't had time to give it proper thought.

That is early. I had best get to confession (bet you didn't guess I wasn't perfectly behaved) next weekend. Thanks for the headszzzup! Now ... what to give up for Lent. Hard for a food lover. But a wonderful time of reflection and getting my priorities completely on track.

We celebrate Valentines day and Hubby's bday (the 17th) all at once. We fix his favortie meal and the kids and I make him a big dessert.

What menu do you have planned. It is lovely the children and you join together to celebrate love and Daddy's birthday. Nice!

We have tickets to go see "Celtic Women" and are going for Italian food before the show....so we are having a very "International" evening!

That sounds like fun Penny. Have a good time. I have seen "Celtic Women" on the PBS special and I think they seem to put on a good show. Have fun!

Live Celtic Women will be outrageously good. I love the dresses they wear and their harmonies and clear voices are truly hair-raising and I mean this is a good way. Have fun.

I totally agree that Valentine's Day in a restaurant is much too commercial and busy. A good dinner at home is much better, ( but that is just my opinion).

For Valentine's day I decided to make something special, but I have to work in the morning so it has to be somethinf quick. I'm making Filet mignon and grilled asparagus martinesicard.com/recipes/dinner/simplefilletmignon.html for dessert chocolate over everything.

Filet Mignon and grilled asparagus is a favorite and a classic, too. I thin the way you serve dessert is fun.
