Other than nourishment has food played a major or minor role in your life? Do you work in the food industry?

The saying goes: "Do you eat to live ... or live to eat?"

It always seems like a trick question. What's your take?

I definitely live to eat. Everything revolves around food. Every family, no matter how big or small, should always sit down to eat together. There should be no excuses. Make memories.

Great advice. Eating meals and sharing our lives with those we care about always draws us closer. We tend to be more aware of their wants, needs and feelings.

Being from a Southern family food has always been a centerpiece of life. Big family meals were the norm when I was growing up and although I now live far away and it's just me and Michael (and now Snow)... we still take time to eat together each night whether at home or at a restaurant.

Well being Portuguese food is VERY important and we live to eat. Better yet we work to live and live to eat! So... I guess we work to eat? Food is a big part of our lives. Dinners are family time where we all prepare it together and enjoy a nice meal with lots of fun conversations!

Food has played a major role in my life from as early on as I can remember. The kitchen was the heartbeat of our household and my Grandmother (Mama), she sat me on the countertop next to the stove, handed me a long handled wooden spoon and taught me to stir the pot. Naturally, she stood right by my side and so we forged our bond as strong as the love we shared.

    more next time ...

When I think about it, it seems that most of the happiest memories I have involve family and food. When death or disaster strike, people bring food. It seems as if it's pretty important to all of us.

Yes. Food is a way to connect, especially during times when we need one another.
