What recipe makes you feel satisfied as you are sip on a frozen cocktail?

You're sitting on a Adirondack chair just before sunset. The grass is a cool, deeply fragrant green. The local insects have begun their night song and the heat of the day lingers. Best of all you are a guest and you don't have to cook.

Tonight someone else is standing at the barbecue, turning the meat. Your hostess is walking toward you carrying a tray of frozen drinks. The glasses are frosted on the outside. The drinks are an assorted recipes of cocktails, and non-alcoholic, smoothly blended flavors with ice. One of them will surely quench your thirst.

Which drink will you choose and why?

I love banana and strawberry daiquiris. And plenty of fresh lime squeezed on the strawberry one.

Pina Colada.... the first "drink" I ever had sitting on my brother's patio in San Diego when I was 15 and still my favorite.

I was served a Mint Julep on evening and it was so refreshing. Do you know a good recipe?

My Mother loved Pina Colada. They smell divine but I cannot ingest pineapple and I don't care too much to eat coconut, other than that ... I would love one.

Thank you Buck. That recipe would get me, my husband and the next door neighbors a bit drunk.

My favorite drink varies, but it's usually not frozen (Mount Gay & Tonic, Gin & Tonic, Mojito, or Margarita on the rocks).

That being said, here's a super easy and really good frozen margarita recipe:

1 small can frozen lime juice
1 can tequila (don't use the really good stuff...you're going to mask it anyhow: Lunazul works nicely)
1/2 can triple sec (or blue curacao if you want a more festive look)

Put that in a blender and fill the rest of the way with ice, then puree.

And here's a sangria recipe, which makes an excellent summer drink (you may want to adjust the quantity, if you're not throwing a big party...then again, making the full batch will ensure you're relaxed, and whatever you don't drink, you can freeze).
