My thirty-three year old KitchenAid mustard colored mixer! It's my big gadget. Still works like a charm!

I guess my pizza stone. If that is considered a gadget. I can take left over pizza and make it taste like I just baked it. Other than that my heand mixer for mashed potates is it. I am not a gadget type person. I like the KISS method. Keep It Simple Stupid. That was taught to me In Emergency Med and I still use it today.

The Black and Decker steamer is nice.

I use a Kitchen aid hand can opener. I miss the electric one, but after a while, they mostly gave out.

Nothing special, but they make life so easy and I can pick up almost anything with them:

I bought a pair at the dollar store and they worked fine until my child took them outside to play cooking in the mud and stuff. He bent the ends and they never were the same and I never picked up another pair. I will have to do it this weekend.

No see ... you had to say "almost anything," didn't you. I can visualize picking up clean laundry that has fallen between the washing machine and the wall. "Don't worry honey, I can reach it with my tongs." I've got to get a pair of those.

I also have a measuring cu by Pampered Chef, It has a looped, circular whisk plunger on the inside. Friday night I made some gravy I simply added water and flour to the cup and plunged away. Then I added this mixture to the pan drippings and whisked an incredibly smooth, lump free gravy. It is a most excellent tool.

My eldest sister is forever making sauces and gravies. I gave her one as a birthday gift one year, and she still uses it faithfully.

Do you have a photo or link to show us what they look like? How do they perform? Must one apply a lot of pressure?

The oven I am using needs to be calibrated. The first time I used it The bottom of my scones were burnt and the tops were not properly cooked. Ever since, I have to guess to gage the temperature for my foods. This makes for lots of opening the oven door to be certain my food is not overcooked. I am going to get one of those thermometers for the oven and I think I shall also get one like the one in the link. Thanks for the reminder.
