I am listening to jazz music, FoodTV channel is on Ace of Cakes (he's about 30 miles from me), some research when I need to reference before I type, checking out blogs here and hanging out with you. What are you doing while we are talking? Sometimes I keep another window open for gmail chat or one for twitter. I want to invite others to Half Hour Meals.

Good for you. You'll just feel it inside when the cookbook is finished. You homeschool your children, too? How many have you and do you show them how to cook? My GRM, Mama taught me from when I was three. Mostly it was to keep her eye on me and me out of trouble. Besides she always let me lick the spoon or the eggbeater. That was in Knoxville, TN and when I had my fourth birthday, we moved to Staten Island, NY. I really loved it there.

Cooking, developing recipes, cooking contests, watching cooking shows, writing about food, collecting recipes and cookbooks (see a pattern here?). I love Twitter and spend a lot of time going between HHM, Twitter, and my e-mail accounts. I have one cookbook finished and can't find an agent to help me sell it. It's a collection of Irish recipes that includes excerpts from three of Nora Roberts books based in Ireland. Sort of like Jan Karon's Mitford cookbook, if any of you are familiar with that. Considering self-publishing but still have to get permission from her publisher to include the excerpts from her books. Meanwhile, working on two other cookbooks.

I also learned to cook at an early age (4) and while my daughter had ni interest in that arena, I am having fun teaching her son,my grandson, to cook! he loves trying different herbs and spices and really loves making soup (from scratch of course) and grilled cheese!

Have you checked with Workman? I talk with Crescent Dragonwagon (yes, real name lol) of The Cornbread Gospels fame from time-to-time and I know they like independents! You could give them a shout.

Well, beyond chasing 7 kids, homeschooling 1 (he is Autistic - Asperger's) and taking care of my still-ill husband (which involves trips to Philly more often than I care for), I cook, read cooking magazines, collect and read cookbooks (currently have 150), write 3 blogs, take food photos, tend our small but bountiful garden, develop recipes for Disney and spend lots of time here at HHM lately. I have 4 Twitter accounts to tend to, a Facebook that sucks up far too much of my time, e-mail that never seems to stop, and too many reviews for cookbooks and products pending. I watch Top Chef and Ghost Hunters religiously and belong to a focus group for the Travel Channel. I have 11 books in varying stages of 'doneness' and sleep about 5 minutes a day

I don't normally lean toward the use of run-on sentences, but when trying to describe my life - it works.

Whew! Makes me tired just reading about it! I have a cousin whose son has Asperger's...coincidentally, they live just outside of Philly. Hell's kitchen is on Tuesdays at 8!

I am certainly glad I record the series, because I keep thinking today is Monday. Last show, we just watched it late Sunday night.

LOL, I live in the kitchen and so does my computer. This puter is my baby, I built her from an empty case to the workhorse she is today. She likely runs an the average of 14 hr's a day. I have 1 blog and hope to have a diabetic site soon, so far I just have the domain - annacia.com - (don't bother looking, there is nothing there yet). I like to convert "regular" recipes to diabetic as well as create them. I photograph what I make and really love the photography. I'm not that great at it but I just keep clicking.

I seldom watch tv but adore The Amazing Race and try never to miss an episode and I also rather enjoy Hell's Kitchen.

Isn't it sickening to be online so much every day? I swear it's an addiction. Our first computer was a Frankenstein - that thing was thrown together with all but chicken wire and chewing gum. I kept it going for years and years and finally gave in when my mom offered to buy me a new one. Now we've been through 4 computers since then. I should have kept building my own! I sit at my kitchen table with my laptop and when I go upstairs to bed, it goes with me lol

I've only seen Hell's Kitchen once- no clue why I can't recall when it's on, because I loved it!

@Anniepooh, it really is though I try not to think about it too much. Recently Ive been leaving the office and not turning the computer on when I come home. This simple change in habits has made me feel like I have taken back some control over the constant urge to see what's going on online. A good meal though and I have no problem turning off all computers.

Penny, Annie, Annacia and Tony ... What is the old saying? "When you want something don, ASK as busy person." In order to be interesting you must be interested in many things and people. I love meeting busy and interesting people!

Even when I relax I do it on the puter with games. It truly is an addiction and I have been hooked for years.

I'm with Tony about being in charge. This is so addictive. When we stop to contemplate the reality of us as beings, we were programmed with an innate thirst for for knowing and being entertained. Whether it be in learning or doing, it seems we are always on the go. I find I dream about whatever I am involved with during the daytime. Sometimes my mind dreams and plans ... While I Am Dreaming. The mind, it never switches off. It is good to practice becoming quiet and listening. Living spherically is true balance. Communication with those we like is addictive also. I can already tell that only after one week here at Half Hour Meals ... I'M HOOKED :-)

Proud of you Annie! I didn't know where to look but let me know and I will check it out.

I write songs and lyrics or poetry this way. I posted "The Mother of Your Child" (song Lyrics) on my site two years ago. Have not yet gotten anyone to write music for it that I like. Been thinking of asking Dolly to see if she can come up with something pretty. I hear it as a country song even though I am just beginning to listen to this venue.

Will add that I have been meeting some fine cooks right here and am happy to visit their web sites. We are cooking bloggers!

I think of dessert combinations as I drift off to dream land and in a few months I am going to shop at AUISWISS.COM where the speciality ingredients are being housed. It is right next door to the culinary school I attended LAC.

Collecting old stuff as well as collecting recipes that my mom used to cook for us when I was a kid. Networking with friends, learning photography, twitter, facebook, myspace and you don't know how many more i keep up everyday. This is always part of my day...in front of the computer for several hours trying to keep updates and learning new things online at the same time keeping up with friends. Learning Photography from a friend, online.

Ironically, I used to stay in the kitchen and think of what's for the next meal until I had an idea to file up the recipe on blog and share it with a friend who wants to learn how to cook. Now, i am stuck in the computer and find endless of interesting stuff about recipe and cooking which I never have enough time to think what's for the next meal. It is so addicting and fascinating to get connected with people around the world and see different amazing creations they made.

Now I am on a special diet which I try to avoid some food, but still love to make it and share with my friends.

I know what you mean. My husband is wanting me to bake and prepare French pastries and when I do I have to make small batches and he has to take the rest to work to share with his friends. Seems as if everyone is multi-tasking; hard to do just one thing. Our minds are capable of more than what we limit them to do.

We can agree that is is nice to be able to share these types of things with those who can relate. This is therapeutic plus when you have cooked something new we'll understand when you report back on your supper. It is a cool thing to embrace.

Great idea. I love blogging, Squidooing, crafting, photography, and cooking. On Fridays I take my crafts and my neighbors goat cheese to the local Farmer's Market...the bright spot of my week because people are so happy and it is my one outing for the week As far as tv goes it is on FoodNetwork unless hubby is home and then it is football. Nice to get to know you all a bit more.

Clouda9, I am usually busy or Joe is at work when the farmer's market is happening. I will make him take me to the huge one in Bethesda, MD which should be pretty soon.

in the midst of a recession, I quit my job at the end of may as a diabetic clinical research coordinator. I thought i wanted to be a teacher and spent 2.5 months of classes, 1000 dollars, 30 hours of observation, and passed my teacher's certification test and now, I don't know if this is what I want.

So I'm currently very lost in life. Just like I was 4 years ago when I first graduated college. Ack.

Lucky me I had an emergency fund. Currently I spend my time fretting about what to do with my life, cooking more because I shouldnt really eat out (i blog/ged a lot of restaurant reviews), and working out when I remember to. I'm heading to Boston this week so I'll be back on the eating the world game plan who cooks when they travel? not me!

I'm a writer primarily. I'm trying desperately to finish a novel I began last year. Other than that, I am still active in political causes and write about social policy issues. I'm an avid reader of history and mysteries (although not history mysteries). I also serve as recording engineer occasionally for Michael's albums and often mix the final products.

You should follow Crescent Dragonwagon @cdragonwagon on Twitter if you are not already. She has been giving me such great encouragement today about my writing. I highly recommend her cookbook, The Cornbread Gospels. A must-read for a good southern boy like yourself!
