Who likes to watch the Food Channel? Which competitions do you enjoy the most and why?

I just cannot seem to stay away and if I find they are on and I am busy doing something else, I record it to view later on. The food challenges are okay for me, the part where the judges get to eat the chefs creations is the most fun.

For me, I become enthralled and glued to the set when the pastry competitions are on. Knowing just how hard they work and understanding some of their angst, takes me to the front row seat, in my mind, and I try to help them out when they carry their creations to the display table. Sitting on the edge of excitement is a neat way to contribute my passion for this field.

I feel such an affinity for these cooks and the way they feel about this great love of our lives, the preparation of food.

  I always want to be sitting at the table when the Iron Chefs present their dishes ... except for the weird foods. Then I would slink away.

Ooh! Last night I was watching CHOPPED and one of their items in the surprise baskets was EEL. One chef had portioned hers out and one of the pieces was twitching. I would have lost it! They come up with some of the strangest combinations of foods for them to use.

I love Iron chef America but havent had cable in about 4 years so I do not know about the other ones. I watch Iron chef America on youtube. What other ones should I search out on youtube

  There are some old shows from the Cooking Channel that were really good. Emeril, Two Fat Ladies,
  Nigella, Malto Mario, Grillin and Chillin. I think that you might enjoy some of these shows.

Last week I was watching "Celebration Cakes Competition," on the Food Channel and long story short one of the competing pastry chefs has agreed to an interview! Woo Hoo!
