Spring is going to be here in a week and I wondered who likes to eat outdoors, and how and where do you do it?

At the ballpark? At a picnic table? In a car? In a park? Sitting on a blanket? Walking down the street? Sitting at a sidewalk bistro? Sitting beside a fountain? In an air plane? On a farm? On a horse? On a boat? At the seaside? On a lake? In a train station or even on the train?

What is your fancy and do you have place you like to eat outdoors that I didn't mention?

This post somehow reminds me of the Dr. Seuss book, Green Eggs and Ham. I like to have my coffee early in the morning outside, in the backyard.

I bet the little birdies fly about and sing to you. How nice. I do have a deck with green wrought iron chairs and a table. I want to buy an umbrella for it, but I will only put it up when the weather is fine and the wind is quiet. We are on the top floor with no roof over the balcony. Wouldn't want it flying off.

Do you eat danish or toast while you sit in your backyard and drink your coffee ... Hmm?

Eating almost anywhere is logical to my taste buds. It is an adventure.

By the way I think I recall that story.

two of my favourite times: a snack or lunch at a tiny "tasca" so called restaurant by the beach in Portugal enjoying clams, crab or snails. And sunset just about anywhere in nature, enjoying a beer, sangria or even better a caipirihna (Brazilian drink) As soon as the weather allows us to we have dinner outdoors or inside our gazebo (not to be eaten alive by the mosquitoes. We grill meats, fish and veggies.

I wish I could wiggle my nose and join you in Europe for this outdoor meal.

we eat out by our stream in front of the house whe the weather warms up. The kids like to take a blanket and lay on it and eat. They then splash in the creek and play out side.

We would love some photographs of you all dipping your toes in the stream and eating your meal.

I love food eaten outdoors. Anywhere in the sunshine with a slight breeze will do for me. I wrote about my mother's picnics and how she would use real flatware and plates, etc. She would fill up a real wicker clothes basket that had been lined with an old quilt. Fried chicken, potato salad and the like went in there and we would carry it between two of us to a small creek nearby and eat on the grass. It was very much like a scene from 'Victoria' magazine!

This sounds like a scene from "Sense and Sensibility"! Wonderful memories.

We are planning to have our morning coffee and little breakfasts on the deck. Today is it chillier than yesterday and raining. We'll only have a small window to do this before the summer gets here and the temperatures too uncomfortable to linger (on the roof), on the top floor balcony. I do want to get an umbrella so to extend our quiet time. I will look at the sale papers next weekend and report back.

Were we in Paris, you would find us sitting at the little cafe sidewalk tables and chairs. So romantic eating outside. It also allows one to dream.
