Have you ever or do you sometimes make your own beer or wine?

Having global members there could be a few of you with grapevines in your vineyards or on your property, and maybe a few of you who get into beer making.

Please let us know if you do or ever wanted to do this. Let's talk!

I used to make my own orange and peach brandy. I've never made my own beer or wine though.

I am all ready to hear about orange and peach brandy making, because I simply adore sipping a mysterious brandy, which has been flavored to perfection. Knowing how splendid is your palate, I have to have this recipe.

My best and oldest friend used to make that. Then he started making some sort of a cherry brandy. It was shelved for a year and his best friends would get a bottle at Christmas. It was oh so good! One year I took the cherries and made a filling for a quasi-black forest cake. I then used the liquor in a glaze. It was obviously good because there wasn’t a crumb left. Unfortunately, between the wine and my eating the excess cherries, I’ve not got a clue as to how I made it. :-D

I'll have to see if I can find it. I learned how to do it from my grandmother.

The two times I drank gin I had violent headaches. No wonder they call it blue ruin.

I don't brew anymore. I do, however, perform professional sampling services. Warning, it's a long and arduous process and may take several pints to reach a conclusion. So be patient. :-D

Oh ... a few pints before you would make a decision. ha. Good one.

I made brandied fruit one time and included the original recipe on Food For Thought under Retro Recipes. I haven't tried beer or wine making, although I would love to visit wine country and taste wines and cheeses for a few weeks.

Every time I think about wine making I remember this video of Lucille Ball!

This is an interesting video about homegrown hops and a photograph to show you what they look like.
