Why is it that bacon is every where. Even in salt (according to an ad here). I was just wondering. And whatdo you do that is special with bacon.
we wrap it around corn and roast it (a cooking asshole recipe) And Rebekka candies it to eat every once in a while.

"why is bacon so popular?"
First you have a high level of animal fat that coats the tongue and prepares it for the flavours. The fat also gets the saliva glands working which aids in the eating experience.
Second it is high in salt the second ingredient that boosts taste bud sensitivity.
Third add a smoked element into that flavour profile to really get things going
Fourth bacon is sliced thinly this means the flavour is released easily on cooking and coats the outside ready to hit the taste buds first bite.
Finally is texture either extra crisp or normal back has a certain texture not found in other foods. That finishes the eating occasion.
My favorite use is Black pudding, wrapped with turkey breast wrapped with Streaky smoked bacon. Baked in the oven then sliced through, my favorite dish.
By the way Bacon is the number 1 food product that converts vegetarians back to meat eaters
