Moist and very soft apple rolls ideal for breakfast! There is cheese in the dough thst gives softness to the rolls. Quick to make!
1 3/4 cup all purpose flour
3/4 cup sugar (of which 2 tablespoons for the filling)
5,29 oz cheese (ricotta or philadelphia)
5 tbs Olive Oil
5-8 tbs milk
1 tbs baking powder
2,2 lb apples
3 tbs Lemon Juice
3 tbs rum
1 beaten egg
1 tbs Sugar
1/2 tps cinnampn
1 tbs choppedwalnuts (optional)
Prepare the Filling: Peel the apples and cut them into small cubes then put them in a pan with 2 tablespoons of sugar, lemon juice and rum. Stir and cook until tender (10 minutes about) stirring occasionally. Discard the liquid in excess and let cool. Add 1 tablespoon of flour and stir well.
Prepare the Dough: Mix flour with the remaining sugar, the cheese, olive oil, milk and baking powder and form an homogeneus and smooth ball.
Roll out the dough onto a floured surface into a 13in square. Arrange the apples and roll up the dough. When you reach the far edge of the dough, moisten the bare edge with water to seal. With a knife cut into 1inch thick piece. Place them onto the baking sheet covered with baking paper.Brush with the beaten egg and sprinkle with sugar mixed with cinnamon (and chopped walnuts). bake in the preheated oven at 355-375°F for 30 minutes about or until lightly golden brown.
I don't understand what amount of the cream cheese to use in the recipe. What does 5,29 oz. mean?
