Ingredients
200g minced beef1 cup of coarse bulgur3 bell peppers1 onion2 garlic clovesparsleycuminSpanish paprikaolive oilsalt and pepper
Preparation
These are Middle Eastern style stuffed peppers. The Bulgur and spices are the ingredients which define this particular variation.
- put the bulgur with two cups of water into a pot and bring to the boil, reduce the heat and cook for 15 minutes
- chop up the onion finely
- squash the garlic
- put some oil into a pan and shallow fry the onion and the garlic add the minced meat and stir, fry for a few minutes
- take the meat from the heat and let it cool down a bit
- mix the meat, onion and garlic with the cooked bulgur
- season with chopped parsley 1 tablespoon of cumin and one tablespoon of paprika
- season with salt and pepper
- cut off the top of the bell peppers and take out the seeds and white bits
- stuff the peppers with the bulgur meat mixture
- put the peppers into an oven proof dish
- put into the oven at 200 °C for about 30 minutes
