Cherry Pineapple Crisp

Submitted by:

Description

My sister's recipe which she affectionately calls “Dump Cake”, tastes great and is super simple to make. Try it with different fruits or even different cake mixes. The possibilities are endless. Serve with ice cream or by itself. Careful, you may want to eat the whole thing!

add to shopping list Ingredients

1 (20 oz.) can of cherry pie filling
1 (20 oz.) can of crushed pineapple
1 box of yellow cake mix
1 ½ sticks of butter
1 Tsp. Cinnamon

Optional:
Chopped Pecans
Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream

Preparation

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9 x13 inch baking pan. Pour pineapple and cherry filling into the bottom of the pan. Sprinkle with the cinnamon. Cover filling with cake mix. In a microwave safe bowl, heat the butter until melted. Drizzle butter over the top of the cake mix. Try to cover as much surface area as you can. Bake for 45 minutes to an hour. Cake should appear crusty and crumbly in texture and be golden brown.
