Larry's Orange Creamsickle Cookies

Submitted by:

Description

These cookies taste just like the old fashioned "Creamsicle Icecream" we all remember. These are great "Dunkin' Cookies". Dunking them in coffee or hot chocolate is the best way to get the most flavor from the orange and white chips.

add to shopping list Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sweetened orange-flavored drink mix. (Such as Kool-Aid)
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla Extract
1 teaspoon Orange Extract
1 cup white baking chips *FREEZE THEM*

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Combine flour, drink mix, baking soda and baking powder in a small bowl. Set aside.
Combine sugar, softened butter, egg, and extracts in large mixing bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy. Reduce speed to low, and gradually add flour mixture. Beat until well mixed, finishing by hand if needed. Stir in frozen chopped baking chips by hand.
Shape in 1 1/4 balls. Place 2 inches apart on to sprayed cookie sheets. Bake for about 15 minutes .
***Tips***
I have found that by first freezing the chips and then putting them in a food processor or blender works a lot better than using chip whole.
