Thinly sliced bread painted with olive oil, sprinkled with herbs, garlic powder and salt.
Dried herbs can be used in place of fresh.
24 Thinly sliced Italian bread
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
1 small bunch Herbs chopped (oregano) sprinkled on tops
1 - 2 Tbsp Garlic powder sprinkled on tops
Salt Sprinkled on tops
1) Day old Italian olive and parmesan loaf thinly sliced.
2) Paint lightly with oil on both sides.
3) Sprinkle garlic powder, herbs and kosher salt on both sides of the bread.
4) Lay flat on sheet pan and bake @ 350ยบ 6 to 10 minutes. Stay close to oven because these change color quickly and will most likely need to be rotated and turned over during baking. Be gentle.
May serve with all kinds of spreads or dips. Store in air tight dry container with a paper towel in between slices. Will keep for three days.
Hi! I like those much ;)
Glad you enjoyed my pasta recipe too. Come onto my blog to see others sweet and spicy flavors!
ThomasMorris I wish I could visit Tuscany other than watching DV's about it. I learned to prepare Crostini when I was working in the Pastry Kitchen at a major hotel in Washington, DC. You can introduce many different spices, grated cheeses, butters or oils, using the same process. they give lots of good and tasty results, too. there was even an olive oil and vanilla bean crostini I made to accompany a dessert.
