Fantastic Meat Boats
Description
A friend gave me this recipe years ago and I started making it for my grandkids, when they come home it's always, Nana you going to make me Meat Boats and Peanut Butter Pie. I gave this recipe to one of my grandsons girlfriend and he took it away from her saying, 'that's my Nana's.

1 lb Hamburger, lean
1 Onion, medium chopped
1 to 2 cloves Garlic, chopped
1 to 2 middle rib Celery w/leaves, chopped
1 sm jar Green Olives, sliced
1 15oz can Crushed Tomato
1 lb grated Chedar Cheese
2 to 3 teas. Olive Oil
1 pkg Sour Dough Rolls
Preparation
In the Olive oil over medium heat sweat the chopped onions, garlic and celery w/leaves, until onions are transparent; add meat, tomatoes and green olives, heat through, about 5 minutes. On low heat add cheese and stir until sticky.
While meat is cooking about 15 minutes; cut top off of sour dough rolls and hollow out roll, add meat mixture and replace the top, cover with foil..
Place in a 350 oven for about 20 minutes until heated through.
Serve with a green salad.
The boats can be wrapped in foil seperately or several and freeze for later. Great for family get togethers or potlucks.
The bread that was scooped out can be used in stuffing mix, bread puddings or bread crumbs.
