Holiday French Toast

This seasonal dish is perfect for friends and family gatherings during the holidays. It's prepared the night before and baked in the morning, making you look like a magician in the kitchen.

Preparation

Combine melted butter, brown sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon in bowl. Stir in apple slices and cranberries to coat. Pour in a greased 13 x 9 baking dish and spread evenly on bottom. Top with bread slices. In the same bowl, mix eggs, milk, vanilla, and the rest of the cinnamon until well blended. Pour over bread soaking each slice well. Cover with foil and refrigerate at 4 to 24 hours (overnight is best.) Remove pan from refrigerator 1/2 hour before putting in oven. Preheat oven to 375 degrees and bake for 40 minutes. Uncover and bake 5 additional minutes to crisp bread. Remove from oven and let stand 5 minutes. Invert onto a serving platter, serve warm.
