Homemade Meatballs

Submitted by:

Description

My Great Grandmother was a whiz in the kitchen. We are so lucky that she wrote down some of her recipes before she passed on. Now we all still get to enjoy these recipes whenever we can. Although I suspect that they would still taste better if she made them. Here is her awesome meatball recipe. Maybe you can pass this recipe down in your family as well.

add to shopping list Ingredients

2 pounds hamburger
2 eggs
1 clove garlic, minced
¼ teaspoon oregano
1 tablespoon sweet basil
1 tablespoon parsley
1 tablespoon minced onion
½ teaspoon salt
¾ teaspoon red pepper
¼ cup Parmesan, grated
½ cup breadcrumbs
¼ cup milk

Preparation

In a large bowl, mix all ingredients. Knead well with hands and make sure fully combined. Form meat balls and place in a greased baking dish. Place in a 375 degree oven for 25-30 minutes. Serve on top of spaghetti, use in meatball sandwiches, or anything else you can think of.

I've made meatballs like this, probably not as good as Grandma's but I would bake them in the oven and then put in homemade tomato sauce and simmer for 3-4 hrs. They were delicious.
