Hummus

Submitted by:

Description

I used to pay big money to get good hummus and then I started making my own. Not only did it taste better, but it's so much cheaper that I don't buy the pre-made stuff any longer.

add to shopping list Ingredients

2 cups cooked and drained garbanzo beans (chickpeas)
1/2 cup tahini (sesame paste)
1 clove garlic - minced
1 teaspoon salt
1 lemon - juiced

Preparation

Toss everything into a blender and pulse until smooth. Add extras like peppers, scallions or herbs as desired to flavor the hummus. Serve with freshly baked pitas, pita chips or vegetable dippers.

yeah i was quite surpised before that it was easy to make some hummus. Before, when my husband went to Dubai, I had him ordered several cans of hummus in different flavors.
