Judy's Pecan Pie

Submitted by:

Description

One of my Aunt's friends, Judy, makes this wonderful pecan pie. She throws in some chocolate chips and they give it a little added sweetness. This pie is quick and easy to make, and will definitely become a favorite at your next family function.

1 cup white corn syrup
1 cup dark Karo syrup
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 eggs
1 cup pecans (whole)
1/2 cup bittersweet chocolate chips
1 pre-made pie crust

Preparation

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Place pecans on the bottom of the pie crust and sprinkle with chocolate chips. In a bowl, mix all the wet ingredients with a whisk. Slowly pour over the pecans until they are all covered. Place in the oven and bake for 45 minutes. Let cool and serve with whipped cream. Delicious!

Although I have never tasted pecan pie with bittersweet chocolate bits, I can understand how this would add a balance to the sweetness. Interesting concept.
