Description
Being the most ambitious cook in the family, I perfected this recipe at the age of 14, and it's been a favorite ever since!
add to shopping list Ingredients
2 cups flour (try half whole wheat, half white)
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup butter
1 cup buttermilk
Preparation
Whisk dry ingredients in bowl.
Cut in softened butter.
Gently mix in buttermilk.
Roll out lightly on floured surface. Cut rounds- old glass works best and adds home-ee touch :-)
Stack rounds in twos and bake in 450 degree oven for 12 minutes.
Enjoy with lemon curd, honey or jam and a big glass of milk!
