Use your creativity to change the recipe to suit your family. Add shrimp or chicken, black olives, or exclude the artichokes. |

I remember I was a child when I first tried barbecue chicken pizza and I loved it. It was such an innovative way to make pizza and I really enjoyed the taste of the tangy barbecue sauce. This version is a simple recipe that you can easily make in a flash when you find out you are having company over last minute. Try it out tonight and see why it is my Mom's favorite pizza ever. |

I love this recipe because it can be served in so many different ways. Keep it in its original form, and serve it over some leafy greens with a lemon vinaigrette. Add some Italian herbs and serve it over pasta with marinara sauce, or Alfredo sauce. There are so many ways you can play with it. No matter what you do, your stomach will be satisfied! |

I love to order Caesar salad when I go out to dinner, but I never was able to duplicate that wonderful taste at home. Bottled Caesar dressings never seemed to satisfy, and boxed croûtons never had the same flavor or crunch. Finally, one day I came across this recipe in my Mother's recipe box. It is simple enough that anyone can make it, but tastes just as good as the ones you get at an Italian restaurant. Serve it as a starter, a side dish, or even top it with some grilled chicken or shrimp and serve as a meal. I think Caesar Cardini, himself (inventor of Caesar salad...not Julius Caesar, as some people like to think) would approve! |

Tortellini is great pasta to use for weeknight meals. It is super fast to make and can be paired with a number of sauces, vegetables, and proteins. I happen to love mushrooms, so this is one of my favorite ways to prepare tortellini. Serve this simple recipe with a fresh salad and some crusty bread. Yum! |

Polenta is a recipe that comes from Northern Italy. Italians use it as a base for braised meats, or just as a side dish to any great meal. This simple recipe is a substitute for the slow cooked polenta that would be made in Italy. Most of us don't have 3 hours to make it, so this recipe is a great way to prepare light, fluffy polenta that has all the flavor, but is ready in 30 minutes. |

Italian food is one of my favorite cuisines because I love all types of pasta. My favorite of all time has to be fettuccine alfredo. I love the creaminess, and how you can add pretty much any protein or vegetable and create your own dish. Try this simple, classic fettuccine alfredo recipe, and treat yourself and your family or friends tonight. |

This fresh and simple pasta dish is perfect for a summer picnic or a light weekday lunch. Fresh ingredients are key, so make sure you stop by the market and find the best tomatoes, basil, and mozzarella you can. You will not believe how quick and delicious this recipe is. Change it up with some of your favorite veggies or herbs as well! |

I love pizza but I do not usually have time to prepare homemade dough. Some packaged pizza dough’s can be okay, but others are not that great. I figured out that store bought focaccia breads work great and create a very tasty crust for any pizza! Try this simple recipe out tonight and you may never order delivery pizza again. |

My Great Grandmother was a whiz in the kitchen. We are so lucky that she wrote down some of her recipes before she passed on. Now we all still get to enjoy these recipes whenever we can. Although I suspect that they would still taste better if she made them. Here is her awesome meatball recipe. Maybe you can pass this recipe down in your family as well. |

My grandfather taught to how to make pasta dough when I was a girl. I later learned how to make raviolis. This is one of my grandfather's favorits things. |

Great Grandma Lucille was not one for using canned sauces; she preferred to make her own. Boy were we lucky when she would whip up some of her famous homemade spaghetti sauce! Her recipe is actually extremely simple, so I am not sure why more people don't make their own every once in awhile. The difference in taste is amazing! Use fresh herbs to really give it a homemade touch. |

Before my Mom was too busy with work and other activities, she used to have more time to cook. She would make this amazing lasagna from scratch, and I remember the incredible smell filling the entire house. This recipe became a staple around Christmas because it was so warm and comforting, not to mention delicious. Not everyone has time to make their own sauce, so you could substitute a jarred one. However, if you find yourself with a lazy Sunday afternoon and you want a recipe that will knock your socks off, I suggest you follow the recipe and make the sauce from scratch. You will never want to go back to jarred again! |

There is a little pizza place in our town that serves my boyfriend’s favorite pizza. When I first heard him order the pineapple and jalapeno pizza I thought it sounded strange, but after trying it, I discovered it is actually very good! They use the large chunks of pineapple on their version, but you can also use crushed or smaller chunks if you prefer them. We make ours like the original, with just pineapple and jalapeno, but feel free to throw in some other ingredients as well. Canadian bacon is a great choice to pair with this quick recipe. |

There are few things I love more than pasta and seafood. Add them together and you have made me a very happy girl. This is one of my favorite pasta dishes because it is simple and elegant at the same time. Serve it for a romantic dinner with your loved one, or simply make it for a typical weeknight dinner. I like to make a fresh salad, and some crispy garlic bread to accompany this delectable main course. It will become one of your favorites too! |

This tortellini salad is great for an outdoor picnic or a light lunch indoors as well. The tangy dressing really gives it some kick, while the prosciutto adds some saltiness. Creamy ricotta tops it off and makes this a delightful salad that is quick and ready to eat in about 30 minutes! |
