Homemade Macaroni and Cheese

Submitted by:

Description

As a child, my favorite food was macaroni and cheese. I would eat it morning, day, and night (to my mother's dismay). The funny thing is, now my son does the same thing. Although it isn't the makings of a balanced diet, it sure is one tasty side dish, and is ok to eat every once in awhile. This simple recipe is incredibly cheesy and decadent, but takes little effort to prepare. So, next time your kids are craving some mac and cheese, put that blue box down, and try making this quick meal instead.

1 pound of elbow macaroni
3 cups cheddar cheese, grated
1 cup mozzarella, grated
1 cup milk
3 eggs, beaten
1 cup bread crumbs
Salt and pepper

Preparation

Cook macaroni according to package directions leave al dente (firm to tooth). Drain and place into a baking dish. Add cheeses, milk, eggs, salt and pepper. Mix well. Place in a 350 degree oven. Cook for about 10 minutes, remove and sprinkle bread crumbs on top. Continue cooking for about 20 more minutes. Remove and serve. Creamy and delicious!
