Description

This recipe turned out delightful. I hope you all will be as pleased as the faces at my table were…

Enjoy!

Preparation

Preheat oven 425 degrees:

Grease 9 inch baking dish.

For the filling:

Mix sugar, flour cinnamon and lemon zest in a large bowl. Add the peach slices and lemon juice. Combine well. Pour into the prepared dish and bake until bubbly,
About 15 minutes.

Topping:

Place the flour, ½ cup sugar and baking powder in a medium bowl. Mix well. Cut in the butter with a pastry blender or 2 knives until course and crumbs form. Add ½ cup water, stirring just until the dry ingredients are moistened.

Remove the dish from the oven. Drop the dough by heaping tablespoonfuls onto the peach filling. Sprinkle the remaining sugar over the top of the dough.

Bake until the topping is golden brown, about 20 minutes.

Serve warm or room temperature.

Making this tonight with a Southern supper dinner party. We are having Meatloaf, mashed potatoes with real butter, cream corn, bacon fried green beans, broccoli casserole, and brown and serve rolls. The peach Cobbler is dessert.

I had this on my computer so I would not lose the recipe and my 5 year old must have gotten on the computer at some point.

Any way this was a big hit as there were no left overs what so ever.

Making this tonight, but I will use my pie dough (that I made Friday), in the bottom of the dish so I'll have crust and topping, too! :P
