Pork Chops With Caramelized Apples & Pecans
Description
I don't think that there is any two foods as complementary as pork and apples. This is a dish that brings the two together, complemented further by pecans and a sweet reduction made up of butter, cinnamon and brown sugar. This is actually a very easy dish to prepare and cook that will come across as something much harder to pull off. You and your guests will be amazed by the results.

4 Thick Pork Chops
2 Sliced Apples
1 cup pecans
2 tbsp Brown Sugar
1/4 tsp cinnamon
2 tbsp unsalted butter
Preparation
1) You'll want to slice your apples into small chunks, about 2 times the size of the pecans that you're using for your dish. This will help them cook quicker and reduce slightly.
2) Heat up your frying pan to medium/high and coat the pan with olive or vegetable oil. Add your pork chops. You'll want to fry each side for a few minutes to add a nice sear, which will help keep the moisture contained within the meat as you continue to cook.
3) Once both sides of the pork have been browned off, move the pork chops to a plate for a few minutes.
4) Reduce the heat in your pan to medium. Add your butter, apples, pecans, brown sugar, cinnamon and some salt & pepper to the pan. Cover and let cook until the apples become tender.
5) In an oven dish, add the pork chops and then cover with the apple & pecan mixture. Bake in the oven at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes. Enjoy!
