What a lovely way to start a day.
1 tablespoon Sugar
2 cups flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 pinch salt
6 tablespoons butter, room temperature & cut into one inch cubes
1 beaten egg
1 cup sour cream
1 egg yolk
1 tablespoon water
* Preheat oven to 400 degrees
* Lightly grease a cookie sheet
* Mix dry ingredients together
* Add cup of butter
* Add beaten egg and cream
* Blend all ingredients together very quickly
* Pat out on a lightly floured surface
* Cut into 2-inch circles with a cookie cutter or juice glass
* Place on a cookie sheet and brush tops with egg wash
* Bake for 10 to 15 minutes
For egg wash mix 1 egg yolk with tablespoon of water.
I'm confused, first you say you need 6 tbls of butter, and at in the preparation section you said add a cup of butter?
Which is it??
I made these on Monday for Yom Kippur (Break Fast). My guests went crazy for them. They were a big hit. I had a few left and they left with one of my guests!
