Spicy Garlic Shrimp Stir-Fry

Submitted by:

Description

Here is a real tasty stir-fry that takes ten minutes to prepare, ten minutes to make and will definitely be one you'll make again. Shrimp is fantastic in this dish and is a great way to swap another protein in if you are sick of chicken, beef and pork. We use a garlic chili sauce by Huy Fong Foods, Inc. in this dish to create the heat that makes this dish so great.

1 pound Fresh shrimp
1/4 cup stir-fry sauce (we use sweet thai)
2 Garlic Cloves
1/2 green pepper, chopped
1/2 red pepper, chopped
2 tablespoons Soy Sauce
1 tablespoon finely chopped ginger
1 teaspoon garlic chili paste
1 cup Broccoli
1 cup snow peas
1 cup cauliflower

Preparation

First, the garlic chili paste we use can be viewed at: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bQvj1nLZtKg/Tv4LX1tT7QI/AAAAAAAABr4/ABrvLA6av9k/s1600/Chili+Garlic+Sauce.jpg.

- Prep work: chop your peppers, garlic, ginger and set those aside in a bowl with your snow peas, cauliflower and broccoli.

- Prep work: wash and de-tail your shrimp. Set those aside in a draining bowl for 10 minutes to dry off the excess water.

- Heat your wok or frying pan to high. Toss in your shrimp with a little bit of olive or sesame oil. Sesame oil doesn't burn as quickly at high temperatures, so this is the best to use but olive oil is fine if you do not have it handy. After about 2 minutes, add your ginger and garlic.

- The shrimp will begin to lose a bit of it's moisture and you should see some liquid form in your pan. Add your chili paste to the liquid and toss the ingredients in the pan continuously until the liquid evaporates. Add the rest of your veggies in at this point.

- Fry for another few minutes. Kill the heat and add your stir-fry sauce and soy sauce to finish the dish. Let it stand for about 2-3 minutes to absorb the sauces and serve hot with some steamed rice. Enjoy!
