Yes, there is a Steak under all that creamy rich bearnaise sauce...

Beef tenderloin to be exact, about 1 1/4" thick and grilled to perfection.

Top the steak with a couple lemon-garlic grilled shrimp and then smother with that rich thick crab filled bearnaise sauce.

Serve with fresh steamed asparagus on the side and you've got heaven on a plate.

Ingredients

Preparation

1. lightly rub each beef tenderloin medallion with a little olive oil.

Sprinkle each side with a little kosher salt and crushed peppercorns.

2. Place 3 thawed, peeled and deveined jumbo shrimp on each skewer.

Drizzle lightly with olive oil then sprinkle each side with garlic powder and lemon pepper.

Cover and refrigerate for now.

3. In a small saucepan make the bearnaise sauce according to package directions.

Add 1 can of chunk crab meat.

When the bearnaise sauce thickens after cooking keep on low heat until ready to use.

4. Heat the grill to 600F and set up for direct heat cooking.

When the grill reaches cooking temperature place the beef tenderloins on the grill and close the lid.

After 2 minutes lift the lid and rotate each medallion 45 degrees and close the lid.

After another 2 minutes lift the lid and flip over each medallion, close the lid.

After another 2 minutes lift the lid and rotate each medallion 45 degrees.

After the last 2 minutes (8 minutes in total) remove the beef medallions and cover with foil to rest.

5. While the beef rests place the shrimp skewers on the hot grill.

After a couple minutes the shrimp should be turning opaque and slightly orangey-red, flip the skewers.

Remove after another couple minutes.

6. Place 3 grilled shrimp on the steak or beside the steak and pour some of the crab-bearnaise sauce over the beef and shrimp.

Serve with steamed asparagus on the side and a nice bottle of Pinot Noir.
