Stuffed Mushrooms with Bacon and Cream Cheese

Try this simple mushroom appetizer that even Mario and Luigi will beat the crap out of King Kuppa for this.

add to shopping list Ingredients

1 cup fresh mushrooms (Shitake, portabello, or white)
3-4 spoonful cream cheese
2 strips bacon, diced into small pieces
2 large cloves of garlic, crushed and chopped
1 small white onion diced
1 tsp chopped chives
italian breadcrumbs (or japanese breadcrumbs and mixed italian seasoning)
parmesan cheese
butter
Olive Oil
Salt And Pepper

Preparation

* Preheat the oven. Clean the mushroom, wipe the excess moist, then cut and dice the stems. You may scoop out some of the meat inside but be careful not the poke the bottom of the mushroom.


* Sautee mushroom caps in butter and olive oil. Set aside.


* Grease the skillet with butter and a little bit of olive oil. Saute garlic, onions, mushroom stems, bacon bits until it becomes crispy. Add in the cream cheese and chives then melt for less than a minute.


* Stuff in the cream cheese filling inside the mushroom caps. Top with Italian breadcrumbs. (In absence of Italian breadcrumbs, you may replace it with japanese breadcrumbs with italian seasonings or mixed italian herbs and parmesan cheese)


* Put the mushroom caps in the baking sheet and drizzle with some olive oil. Bake for 15-20 minutes under 300 degrees C or until the mushrooms softens.
