Swiss Cheese Green Bean Casserole
Description
If your family is anything like mine, the traditional green bean casserole is a staple at all holiday gatherings. For the last couple of years, I have been put in charge of making this casserole for our Christmas Eve dinner at my grandma's house. I have decided, though, that I'm going to try something a little different this year...the traditional green bean casserole with a twist--Swiss cheese!

2 (14.5 ounce) cans of cut green beans
2 (10 3/4 ounce) cans of cream of mushroom soup
1 1/2 cups milk
2 (6 ounce) cans of French's fried onions
9 slices of processed Swiss cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
In a mixing bowl, combine the green beans, soup, milk, and 1 1/3 cup of fried onions. Add salt and pepper to your liking. Mix well (and carefully so as not to break the green beans) with spoon.
Spread half of the mixture evenly into a casserole dish.
Layer the processed Swiss cheese slices evenly on top of the mixture in the casserole dish.
Add the remaining green been mixture to the casserole dish, and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
After 40 minutes, remove the casserole from the oven, and add the rest of the fried onions to the top. Then, bake for another 5 minutes.
Enjoy!
