Vanilla Cream Frosting
Description
This Vanilla Cream Frosting is delicious as is - you can even add food coloring to match your party theme. When you're in the mood for something a bit different I've included four variations that are delightfully different.

3/4 cup Butter or margarine; at room temperature
8 cups Confectioners' sugar; sifted
1/2 cup Warm milk
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 cup vanilla
Preparation
Cream butter until soft peaks form. Alternate adding confectioner's sugar and hot milk; beating well after each addition. Blend in salt and vanilla; mixing until the frosting is light and fluffy. This recipe yields 1 1/8 quarts.
Variations
Orange Cream Frosting
In place of the vanilla add...
1/8 cup orange juice
1/2 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon orange rind; grated
Chocolate Cream Frosting
Reduce vanilla to 1 tablespoon and add...
1 cup cocoa powder; sift with the confectioner's sugar
Pineapple Cream Frosting
In place of hot milk and vanilla use...
1/2 cup hot pineapple juice
