Mom of 7 and culinary graduate (1993), I write about food at Cooking with Anne, Family.com where I am known as Short Order Mom, at A Thousand Soups and here at Half Hour Meals.
Anything Mediterranean - olives, tomatoes, olive oil, roasted red peppers, hummus, pita, goat cheese - and chocolate. I would never turn down a bowl of tapenade or a pissaladiera!
Thanks! It\'s not exactly a half-hour meal, but the prep time is quick so you\'re free until dinner is done.
Now, this is sushi that even I can make! I like the fluted look better than the usual rolls, and you make it sound so easy to do. I don\'t have access to fresh and safe fish, can you provide an alternate for that part?
These look so much like Nanaimo bars - and the recipe is similar. Hard to believe that anything could be richer than Nanaimos, but I think this one may be! I\'ll have to make them.
Yes, I know about the custard all too well! They are a staple at my house as my grandmother was from Canada. I think the peanut butter here looks like it replaces what would be custard in Nanaimos rather well.
I was floored at how easy they were - really. The kids liked to stand by and watch them puff up in the oven. Fun!
You know, the original recipe is halved - I\'ve been doubling all these years to fit my family! I love this silly cake. Thanks, Ally!
Oh, now - that\'s good stuff! My mom makes hers with cream cheese and it\'s rather dense. How\'s the density on this one?
I love pasta and green combos - one of my favorites and this looks wonderful!
I stalk my zucchini plants each year waiting for the blossoms - I stuff mine with goat\'s cheese and even my children adore them. These look so wonderful - I\'ll have to bend and try mozzarella next. I also couldn\'t live without anchovies, so that part makes them perfect!
Excellent flavor combination - bright and delicious!
Thanks, girls :) This was one of those \"What do I have on hand?\" dishes that tuned out well!
This looks wonderful - but I have the same question about the eggs.
I LOVE lemon curd! Add a scone and some clotted cream and I\'m in heaven.
Adorable! I\'ve seen them before, but never with lights behind them - it makes them infinitely prettier!
I will have to try this - it looks fantastic! I\'m not sure I\'d share, though ;)
This looks so great! Can\'t wait to try it.
Most often I serve it with roast chicken, but shrimp or fish would also complement the lemon flavor well.
What makes Mexican sour cream different? I\'ve never heard of it! Is the usual stuff OK to sub? This looks so good - I adore cilantro.
PERFECT! The garlic is missing from the ingredients list (I found it on the blog page) but these are SO good - and part of the Week of Half Hour Meals feature from our blog here at HHM.
These were awesome and requested again and again!
So much for step-mom, your version was fabulous!
Really good! Everyone loved it and we\'ll be making it again.
My favorite, too - great pesto recipe - this was great!
A recipe for Banh Mi on HHM! Awesome! I\'ll be making this one sometime soon.
