Mexican cuisine have so many fantastic recipes. It’s really hard to choose but the most famous are obviously tacos. Who doesn’t like tacos? Personally never heard of anyone that is not into tacos. And there are so many different ways to make them, the possibilities are endless. I like mine with some fresh tomato salsa. I’m a tomato addict so fresh tomato salsa is a must.
Miso is a traditional Japanese soup. If you ever been to sushi restaurant you had to see it or try it. I absolutely love it so it was obvious for me to learn how to prepare it on my own. It's incredibly easy as long as you have right ingredients so all you need to do is find ingredients in health store or whole foods.
Most of the week I eat a quick breakfasts, just a toast witch cream cheese or a vegetarian sausage link, but not on Sundays . Sunday is a special day when you don’t have to feel bad about staying in bed till noon (except the fact that your dogs have been begging you for the past hour to take them on a walk) and eating breakfast in pajama. You walk into the kitchen and start mixing flour and eggs. And when you make pancakes the smell is just fantastic. Every morning should smell like that. Breakfast like this is a little bit heavy with a lot of sugar and butter but trust me, it’s worth it. I’ll eat less for dinner. Besides everyone should be allowed to indulge himself at least once a week.
I’ve been thinking about making a tart for a while. It’s so tasty and buttery. Puff pastry has plenty of butter and I don’t even want to look at nutrition facts to find out how many calories I just swallowed, but it was so damn good. Have you ever wondered why we like butter so much? That’s because our long time ancestors didn’t have access to food like we do, they had to hunt and whatever they hunted had to last them for a while. That’s why fat was actually beneficial because it filled them up for longer and gave them more energy. We don’t live in those times anymore but we kept that trait and that’s why we love buttery puff pastry. I decided to make traditional leek tart in a slightly untraditional way, few mini tarts instead of one, big round tart. I made it that way so my other half would eat it too and he’s a ‘meaty’ guy so I mixed in some ham to his portion. That way I had my vegetarian leek tarts and he had ham and leek ones.
